Conference on Glass Science and Technology

In April, our colleagues Dr. Jakob König and Dr. Uroš Hribar travelled to Lyon (12–17 April 2026), where they attended a conference combining the 18th European Society of Glass Conference and the Annual Meeting of the ICG - International Commission on Glass, organized by Union of Glass Science and Technology.

The event brough together more than 450 scientists from 32 countries focused on glass research and development!

Jakob gave a presentation titled “Modification of Glass Composition as a Route to Improve Foamed Glass Properties,” where he presented several years of research on foamed glass and discussed possible approaches to improving its thermal insulation properties.

Uroš presented a poster titled “Apparent Volume Reduction of Foamed Glass during Gas Pycnometry,” describing an interesting and still unexplained observation identified during research on foamed glass.

It was a great opportunity for them to share our work in glass research and gain insight into what others are exploring.
