Highlights from MS&T25: Presentations, Networking, and Recognition

At the end of September, Jošt Oblak and Matjaž Spreitzer attended the Materials Science & Technology 2025 (MS&T25) conference, which brought together more than 2 200 participants from 34 countries. The event, co‑hosted by ACerS, TMS and AIST, took place on 28 September – 1 October 2025 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, Ohio and serves as one of the largest forums for exchanging ideas on new materials technologies.
Jošt gave a presentation on stereolithographic printing, sharing his experiences with this photopolymer‑based 3D‑printing technique that creates high‑precision parts layer by layer. It was his first international conference, and he used it to network with researchers working on advanced resins and ceramic suspensions for SLA.
Matjaž delivered an invited lecture on Sm-doped PMN–PT films, discussing advances in enhancing their functional properties. During the conference, he also attended the annual business meetings of the ACerS divisions.
Matjaž was also honored with a recognition for his one-year term as Chair of the Electronics Division, which has just concluded. This role followed several years of service in the division’s officer chain.
The Electronics Division brings together researchers in dielectric and ferroelectric ceramics, sensors, fuel cells, and emerging nanomaterials. Over the past five years, Matjaž has helped organize the Electronic Materials & Applications conference, develop programs for ACerS meetings, run student competitions and, above all, connect researchers and students in the field of electronic materials.
