Sustainable insulation materials
Interested in utilizing various waste streams to produce functional insulation material, with a primary emphasis on foamed glass. Study of process parameters and various additives, how they influence the expansion behaviour and the final properties of the product. A specific area of interest is the role of hydrated silicates in glass foaming, and the research of their syntehsis, structure and properties.
In addition to inorganic materials, I am also interested in the reutilization of biowaste in construction applications, particularly the direct incorporation of olive pomace into thermally insulating bricks.
