Research
Research interests
Advanced analytical techniques
Working with a range of electron microscopes, including various scanning electron microscopes (SEM) combined with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), wavelength-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (WDS) or electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Also experienced in optical microscopy and UV-VIS spectroscopy.
Sample preparation expertise
Competent in focused ion beam (FIB) sample preparation, conventional TEM sample preparation and SEM sample preparation.
Technical and Laboratory Support
Managing the laboratory, including the procurement of chemicals and small laboratory equipment, preparation of equipment manuals and standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safe handling and disposal of chemical waste. Ensuring cleanliness, organization and compliance with safety standards in laboratory spaces.
Materials synthesis
Conducting experiments related to photocatalysis, hydrothermal synthesis of ZnO and TiO2 and solid-state synthesis of ceramic materials.
