The microstructure of 6XXX aluminium alloys is gaining increasing interest in the automotive field since it affects light metal components' mechanical, crash, corrosion and aesthetic properties. In this context, the present webinar aims to present the analysis of the recrystallization kinetics during the hot extrusion of 6XXX aluminium alloys, as well as the development of reliable recrystallization models to be used in FEM codes for microstructural prediction at a tool design stage, thereby avoiding expensive and time-consuming trials and errors.
