K9 at 15th International Conference of the Jožef Stefan Postgraduate School (IPSSC 2023)


From May 31 to June 2, 2023, the 15th international conference of the Jožef Stefan Postgraduate School (IPSSC) took place live in the Mekinje Monastery in Kamnik. With the motto of this year's conference, "Turning problems into solutions", young researchers emphasized the importance of problem-solving and well-thought-out organization of work, which they constantly encounter in the course of research work and everyday life in science, ultimately leading to new achievements.

The IPSSC brought together postgraduate students from various fields ranging from ecotechnologies, nanosciences and nanotechnologies, sensor technologies, information and communication technologies, biotechnologies, medicine and other natural sciences. Among them, 4 young researchers Uroš Hribar, Nina Kuzmić, Petruša Borštnar and Blaž Jaklič from Advanced materials department (K9) were involved either as active participants or members of organizing committee. Blaž Jaklič presented his work on “Epitaxial LiNi0.33Mn0.33Co0.33O2 thin film cathodes as a model system for performance improvement of lithium-ion batteries” and Petruša Borštnar on “Characterization of polytypic defects in Li3xLa2/3-xTiO3”.

This type of conference, with a broad programme and with many interesting talks, is an excellent opportunity for networking between young researchers from different research fields and enlightening them about the various aspects of research engagement.
