Best innovations of the Podravje region 2020
On September 25th 2020 a traditional event for the best innovations of the Podravje region took place is Maribor, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia. This year it was held for the 18th time. According to the public tender, 27 innovation applications were received, which is the highest number so far, and 118 innovators were included in the innovation proposals.
With the annual selection of Podravje innovations, CCIŠ encourages companies and independent innovators to a higher level of innovation culture development, which Slovenian economy and the entire society urgently need for development and successful business in domestic and international competition.
The company Impol R&D d.o.o., together with the researchers of the Advanced Materials Department, JSI received 2 Silver awards for the innovations:
- TCG Autoskimm, Development of automatic slag skimming process to reduce aluminum losses and ensure reproducible melt quality
- New super-light and super hard engineering materials, Development of a laboratory-verified synthetic pathway for the production of lightweight, super-solid advanced materials based on Al-Mg-B-Ti
